Greg is Andy's sister's husband who is an engineer for the air force. We were at our friends' house for dinner and he is getting his PhD in some sort of engineering and told us a joke that we thought Greg (and Alisa) would enjoy.
The optimist thinks the glass is half full, the pessimist thinks the glass is half empty, and the engineer thinks the glass is twice the size it needs to be.
I laughed pretty hard. :)

that is pretty funny. I'll have to tell ryan and his brother Brandon (who is also going into engineering) that one.
I have heard this before, but I still like it ! It so makes sense. The cup is too big. Then it is only full not ever half empty! smaller glass same amount of water! DOne!
